We’re excited and deeply grateful to share that Modia Health has won Outstanding Health Improvement Services at the 2026 Brisbane City Local Business Awards.
Standing together on that stage was a chance to take in how far we’ve come. For us, this recognition affirms the direction we’re heading and the value of the work our team puts in day after day.

The reason we started still matters
Modia’s story began with a practical problem. Our founders had seen how difficult it could be for vulnerable patients to travel for care that could, in suitable circumstances, come to them.
Their experience in regional imaging and aged care shaped a clear purpose: healthcare should work around the person receiving it, the people supporting them and the place they call home.
Turning that purpose into a service has taken clinical skill, persistence and many working relationships. Behind each visit are people organising equipment, checking referrals and coordinating with care teams so an idea can become an appointment.
The milestones that brought us here
Earlier in our journey, we celebrated reaching 100 patients at our mobile clinic in Kyogle. Those appointments meant patients could have their scans locally rather than make the trip to Lismore.
That milestone made the purpose of our work tangible. It also reflected the support of local doctors and the community, including McKid Medical, who helped the service grow.
We think about those beginnings when we look at this award. Progress has come through individual appointments, lessons learned and relationships built over time.

The people behind the service
We’re especially proud of our team. Our clinicians, the people arranging visits and those handling reporting and communication each bring something essential to a patient’s care.
Much of their contribution happens outside the photograph: a referral checked carefully, a conversation about a resident’s needs, a practical difficulty worked through with facility staff, or a handover completed after a visit.
That care and professional judgement matter. To every member of our team, thank you for what you bring to Modia Health. This is your achievement too.

Thank you for helping us get here
To our aged care teams, referrers, patients, families and community partners: thank you for trusting us, welcoming us and sharing what matters to you. The knowledge and coordination you bring are a vital part of making care work. We’re grateful, too, to the families supporting the people behind Modia.
Thank you to the Local Business Awards organisers, Precedent Productions and awards founder Steve Loe, for recognising local businesses and their contribution to the community. Congratulations to our fellow finalists and winners. It was a pleasure to share the evening with you.

We’re proud. And we’re not finished.
Our goal is to get mobile diagnostics to the people and places that need them, when they’re needed. There is more work ahead to make that possible for people who find it difficult to reach a clinic.
For us, continuing to improve means paying attention to the whole experience: how a referral reaches us, how a visit is coordinated, what the patient and care team need to know, and how information reaches the treating clinician afterwards.
We want to keep listening to patients, families, facilities and referrers, and use what they tell us to make the service easier to work with. It also means supporting our team to develop their skills and looking carefully at where mobile diagnostics could help meet unmet needs.
We’ll take time to celebrate this milestone. Then we’ll keep doing the work that gives it meaning.
